How are scholarship applications reviewed?

Some of our scholarships are automatic, so students automatically qualify for them, but most scholarships are reviewed by the foundation’s scholarship committee. The foundation uses a blind-review process for reviewing applications. No identifiable information is visible to our reviewers (name, address, email address, etc). Multiple reviewers read through the applications for each scholarship with the specific qualifications in mind. The reviewers rank each application according to the criteria. An aggregate score of all reviewers is given to each application, and the highest-ranked applicant receives the award.
