Do I need to complete a FAFSA to be eligible for scholarships at Northland?

The short answer is no, you do not need to complete the FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid to be eligible for scholarships at Northland.

However, there are scholarships at Northland that require a demonstrated financial need. In those cases, the foundation is able to use the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) number to have a fair way to compare applicants’ financial need (i.e. the Hartz Foundation Scholarship).

Please note, the FAFSA is required to calculate financial aid and other gift aid or state/federal grants at Northland. If a student has a financial need, it is usually in the best interest of the student to have their family complete and submit the FAFSA.
