This fund is intended to provide emergency financial assistance in the form of grants to students at Northland Community & Technical College who have unexpected, urgent financial needs that prevent them from attending class, completing a credential exam, or meeting other course requirements.

Definition of “Emergency” to qualify for these funds:
An emergency is a serious, unplanned event or unexpected expense that makes it difficult or impossible to attend class, complete a credential exam, or meet other course requirements.

Student recipients will receive a one-time grant of up to $500.

A student who receives a Cares Fund grant is not expected to pay it back. Any student who receives a Cares Fund grant is not eligible to receive another grant in the same academic year apart from exceptional circumstances as determined by the Cares Committee.
