Workforce Development Scholarships
Recent legislation has awarded $2,500 scholarships to attract students to enter high growth, high-demand occupations in the areas of advanced manufacturing, agriculture, construction, education, early childhood education, health care services, information technology, public safety, and transportation. Northland Community & Technical College will offer these scholarships to new students coming to Northland in the fall. We believe these targeted scholarships will help answer the demand for highly skilled workers.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Students must be a resident of the state of Minnesota. (Must be a high school graduate of a Minnesota high school or, if older than average, must have established residency in Minnesota.)
- Students must enroll in at least 9 credits this fall and declare one of the following Northland programs:
- Scholarships are distributed in amounts of $1,250 each semester. To maintain eligibility for the second semester disbursement, a term GPA of 2.0 or higher must be maintained.
- Students who were awarded a Workforce Development Scholarship last year are eligible to apply again if they have completed two academic terms with a minimum of nine credits each and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
